Memorable - 49 and Market

Hi lovelies

And another gorgeous new range to play with here at 49 and Market - the ARToptions Viken range - the mix of purples and greens are just GORGEOUS! I have a layout to show you today using this stunning new collection:

I have picked the reverse side of the ARToptions Viken Floral Notes paper to create my layout. I cut the page down to 12x12 at the top of the page leaving the bar code strip at the bottom, and then adding a strip of the Viken fabric washi tape at the top of the page, adding in the two word strips "happiest experience" and "life's simple pleasures" from the ephemera pack. The photo is adhered to the window from the Viken laser cut sheet and the dark purple journal card from the Viken ephemera pack, and then adhered to the page with foam tape in the centre leaving the outside open to tuck in flowers and add rubons later. I then layered the photo with the two different frames from the laser cut sheet on top of the photo at angles. I then added layers of flowers and laser cut pieces to the corners of the photo.
I added a butterfly rubon from the 8x6 Viken rubon pack over the washi tape. The clusters are made up of Viken Ephemera, laser cut elements, Huckleberry Sugar Posies, and Fluff Sugar stems.
I have also added the leaves from the Sugar Stems flower pack. The title "memorable" is from the Ephemera pack. I have then used rubons from the 12x12 Viken rubon pack and cut out the bits that I wanted to use. I then placed these under my photo and rubbed them on, as shown on the photos below:

The "elastic band" on the frame is off the laser cut sheets. There are just the cutest little butterflies and dragonflies on the laser cut sheets, which I have added to may layout using glue on the body and foam tape under the wings to give them dimension.
I finished off tucking in the circle tag "magic" and the tab "loving life" (I sanded the edges) under the layers of the photos and frames. I also added the chipboard circle tag "just us two"

Thank you for visiting the blog today.

Take care,
Michelle

Dream with your eyes wide open

Hello lovelies

As I am typing this blog post, winter has hit us down here in the South Island, NZ with a vengeance. It is snowing all around us on the main divide .. and here in Christchurch its been a mix of sunny, and a bit rainy, but very cold - quite a contrast. So, with this day being a indoors type of day,  I had the opportunity of creating a layout using this months moodboard

Such a beautiful moodboard - so soft and dreamy. I have created a layout using a photo of a close up of my daughters eye. And I love the title "Dream with your eyes wide open" I thought the dreamy and the colours all went together with the moodboard.
I started first with adding gesso to the page and then adding texture with a stencil and texture paste. Once this was dry I added different shades of brown splatters and then stamped with a script stamp. The photo is matted on various pieces of paper and then adhere to the page with foam tape but only in the centre leaving the outside open to tuck in chipboard and the flowers.
I used two flower posies - DA2634 and dabbed a light brown Prima Alchemy paint all over both of these. I then cut the daisy stem off one of the posies. The daisy and buds were painted with a darker Prima Alchemy paint. I then began layering around the photo. I adhered the full posie to the left of the photo, and then added the one which I cut off the flower under the photo.

I added some 49 and Market flowers and then added the single flower I cut from the other posie above the 49 and Market flowers on the left. I painted the Feathers by Nuneka - DA2733, in dark brown and added these under the flower cluster
The butterfly (mini Monarch DA 2385) was painted with dark brown paint, adhered to the flower and then covered with Stickles
I first embossed the title "Dream with your eyes wide open" and the title came out too orange. I then tried to cover it up with a dark brown archival ink, and some paint. It didn't quite work either. Then I added some unicorn Stickles and the colours all blended and I love how it turned out in the end - even if it has all sorts of medium on it :)
These are the products I have used:

Amazing - 49 and Market

Hello 49 and Market fans

I have a layout created with Spectrum Sherbet for you today - but with the Tidal Wave colours:

I so enjoyed having so many wonderful elements to use on my page. The base of the layout is the paper called ""painted patchwork" out of the Shebert Foundations pack. I have framed my photos using the Spectrum Sherbet Tidal Wave Frame Set, before adhering to my page with foam tape.I have also added some punched paper strips and the film strip from the laser cuts elements pack. The film strip has been cut in half - using one half at the top of the photo and the other half under the bottom of the photo.
Once I had added the photos I then added the viewfinder disc (cut in half), only gluing it at the edges under the photo as I wanted to add some rubons from the Tidal Wave 6x8 pack - there is a sheet with circular bits on it and I wanted this to line up with the viewfinder disc, which I then rubbed under the viewfinder disc so I could align it and then stuck it down. I did the same at the bottom the photos. I then added rubons all around the elements before adding the flower cluster.
I used lots of leaves and flower laser cuts from the Tidal Wave laser cut pack, plus Ocean Jade Royal Spray Flowers to create the flower cluster. The butterfly has been added with glue to the body and foam tape under the wings to give it dimension.
The title "amazing" is from the Spectrum Sherbet chipboard words.
I finished off the layout adding additional Tidal Wave coloured palette rub-ons around the edge of the paper adding to the few that already printed on the paper.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.

Till next time,
Michelle

Always Find Time - Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty Attic fans

And just like that ..... it's June! Is it just me, or does time seem to be going faster and faster? I am back on the blog with a new project for Dusty Attic.

I first layered and matted my photo, and adhered to my page with foam tape - only to the centre of matting, so I was able to tuck in flowers and chipboard. The panel grid (DA2373) was painted with orange chalk paint and then cut in half adding one piece to the right of the photo matt, and the other to the top left of the photo matt.

I then added flower die cuts and flowers to each side to make up the clusters. Once these were done I added the heart stems (DA3260) chipboard - painted first with white and brushed over with a light green.
The title "Always Find Time for the Things in Life that Make You Happy" (DA1458) is painted with a darker green paint. Once this was dry, I adhered this to my page and then added Glossy Accents to give the title dimension.
I finished off adding 49 and Market's Curators Essential stitched washi tape and some bling.

These are the Dusty Attic pieces I have used:

Thanks for visiting the blog today.

Cheers
