Live Beautifully - Dusty Attic Project

Hello Scrappy friends

Trust everyone had a good Easter weekend. I have managed to get some scrapbooking done - and here is a project I created with some gorgeous Dusty Attic chippies.
SO wish the weather was like the warmth in this picture. Winter has certainly made itself known the last few days - its been raining and cold - great weather for scrapbooking admittedly - but oh for the warmth of the sun ... and we are only just starting with winter here in New Zealand.

I have used a mixture of 49 and Market and Mintay collections to create this layout. The base page is from Mintay. And the cut outs are a mixture of fussy cut from Mintay and the laser cuts from the 49 and Market Island Paradise Collection. I have also used the barbed wire from the 49 and Market Laser Cut Frame No 1 pack.
The fence is the Crooked Fence chippie, which I cut in half, sponged it in white paint. Once dry I then dabbed a bit of rusty gold paint on it, and then sanded over the fence lightly to give it that old weathered look.
The sea shells were done in various shades of Creative Expressions Polishing Wax and then done in various shades of opal polish to give it a nice shine and in various tones.
The title Live Beautifully was also done in the same waxes and then toned over with a gold polish
Once this all laid down I then used some of the Dusty in Colour Denim paint and watered this down and then with a paint brush went around the light house, the top of the photo and around the frame, and around the bottom of the shell arrangement to add some dimension.
I finished off adding some art stones and then dabbing some blue paint over these.

And these are the products I have used available at Dusty Attic:

Yours in Scrapping,
Michelle

Dreams - Dusty Attic April Mood Board

Hello Dusty Attic fans

A new month and a gorgeous new Mood Board at Dusty Attic for April - I just love these beautiful colours
So fresh, so pretty and yet so vibrant 💓

And here is my take on the mood board using these colours
I was inspired by the circles and the leaves  - so I have taken to using a circular photo, adding in flowers and chipboard leaves. This is a photo of my beautiful niece, who lives in South Africa. It was a selfie she had taken of herself - hence the shadow over her eyes. I love this photo, and its so natural. She really is a beautiful girl!
I have started off using a page out of the 49 and Market Bold and Beautiful paper range called "to the point" paper. I used the Dusty Attic XOXO stencil with texture paste to create texture in the background. I then used Dusty Attic paint - Burnt Orange and dabbed this on on the page. I then marked the page where the photo would be placed and dabbed a combination of the Dusty Attic Raisin paint and Sugar Plum paint in that circular marking. Once dry I randomly stamped areas of the page. All chipboard was coloured using Creative Expressions Gilding polishes.
The photo was first mounted with foam tape for dimension. I used the larger of the decorative frames behind the photo, cutting the circular frame in half so that the ends of the chipboard piece could be seen on the top and bottom of the photo.
Next I layered the flowers and cut the foliage #13 chipboard into individual leaves and added these among the flowers
I then used a combination of the Dusty Attic Raisin paint and Sugar Plum paints to colour the muslin cloth before randomly adding it under the photo and between the flowers.
Once everything was adhered to the page, I used the same Raisin paint and Sugar Plum mix and went round the outside of the flower/photo arrangement to add dimension.
I finished off by adding random spots of art stones inked in green on the page.

White ... with 1 Challenge - Pretty in Pink

Hello scrappy friends!

Gosh its April already, scary how fast time is going .... and of course, its a new challenge over at White with 1. And this month is the lovely PRETTY IN PINK ..... just as it says - so so pretty.

I always think of the 80's movie with the same title when I hear of Pretty in Pink (I am giving my age away here!). And if this gorgeous colour doesn't inspire you, White with 1 also have a lovely mood board for extra ideas (the mood board is of course entirely optional for anyone wanting to enter this months challenge).
Here is the mood board:
I decided to take a little spin on the sketch, and turned it clockwise once, and used that as my base for my layout

I first started off by planning where I would place my photos, chipboard and flowers, then once I had decided, I then added texture paste with the reverse chicken wire stencil around the design. Once dried, I added a little watered down pink paint, and then when that was dry, I randomly stamped the page with archival black ink.
I have used a Dusty Attic clock which I have cut to suit - using Creative Expressions gilding polish to add the pink to the clock. The background chippie is the Dusty Attic geometric panel. I have used a piece of this, which I have cut to fit and painted in white.
I have used Mintay papers to fussy cut the flowers and the frames that my photos are placed on.
The title "delight" is also a Dusty Attic and coloured with Creative Expressions gilding polish .

I have layered the flowers and shaped these to create dimension, and I have also added some flower stems and lace between the flowers. The fairy is fussy cut from 49 and Market My Secret Garden range and also raised with foam tape to the height of the lettering.

These photos were taken back in 2007, one of the many times we travelled to the city for my daughter to take part in the ballet comps that were held annually. In these photos she danced a duet known as the Cat Dance. I always thought that tutu's were one of the nicest things a ballet dancer could wear - and in this dance she wore a beautiful white tutu.

Hope that I have inspired you to take part in this months challenge with the lovely PRETTY IN PINK

Thanks for popping over to have a look at my project.
