Sketchabilities #151 - July 2018 reveal

Helloooo .... from a very cold and rainy NZ!

I so enjoyed all the lovely layouts from everyone who joined Sketchabilities with their comeback reveal #150 - I love how one sketch can produce such varieties and beautiful interpretations - amazing!
SO of course , it's the 15th of July - which means its Sketchabilities July reveal day - and it's sketch #151:

And here is my take on the sketch, using the gorgeous Chesterville paper

Here I  have lightly brushed the paper with gesso and then stamped the paper with black ink and a script stamp. I then splattered some brownish/reddish ink on the page. Once dry, I gesso'd over this lightly again, and once all dry, I sandpapered over the page and then stamped on the black inch blots. I also inked the edge of the paper with a brown ink. The layout is finished off with a layering of paper, tags and the chipboard cogs and 49 and Market flowers.

Looking a little closer, shows the stamping in the background and the inking. The cogs have been panted in black and then dabbed with copper, bronze and gold paint to give it that rusty look. The matting for the photo is an old Bo Bunny collection that I cut out and distressed.  I stamped a film strip image and then stuck a washi tape film strip piece over this. The flowers have also been brushed with a little brown ink to give them a more rustic appearance.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's take on this sketch for July .....

I will be back soon ....

Have a great week everyone!

White .. with 1 - July 2018 Challenge

Oh my .... where is this year going! Far too fast I might add.... half way through the year, gulp!

And of course being the 1st of the month, means a new challenge over at White ... with 1.   Featuring this month with white is the gorgeous Air Bubble

I love this colour, so pretty and fresh. And along with this White with 1 has a lovely mood board for inspiration:

Pretty, isn't it?

Here is my take on the colour for this month:

This is me ... I was about 10 years old .... yes sometime ago. We used to go down to the coast for our family holidays. I have gesso'd the back ground and added some dots with text paste. I sprayed the page with blue ink, which I toned down with water spritzing. The bubbles are Dusty Attic chipboard, which I inked. I didn't have quite the blue flowers, so I managed to paint white flowers with metallic paint. The background is also stamped with a bit of black ink and tiny dot stamp.

Looking forward to seeing your take on the challenge up on the White .. with 1 blog.

Sketchabilities June 2018 Reveal

 Hi there!!

Sketchabilities is back - yay! I am sooooo excited to be on this amazing design team, and so look forward to creating pages with their gorgeous sketches, with reveal day every 15th of the month. They have picked up where they left off - and today marks sketch no #150:

For my first reveal I have used some papers from 49 and Market. And here is my take on the sketch:

Here I have used the the "Looking Through" papers from 49 and Market, and their gorgeous range of flowers. I have stamped behind each photo, and then layered my flowers over a Dusty Attic chipboard design. There are also some prills dotted here and there. I have also fussy cut out some of the fairies and flowers which I have added between the flowers. I have then used chalk and rubbed this on the outline to emphasis the photos and the flowers.

Come and play along with us at Sketchabilities - have a look at the other layouts done by the rest of the design team, they are gorgeous! Hope to see you up on the blog!

White with ... 1 June 2018 Challenge

Hello from a very cold New Zealand

Winter is sure making it's presence felt ... and it has sure been cold here in Christchurch. But we are in June ... hello winter! And yes - a new month, means a new challenge over at White ... with 1. Just love the colour for this month SPACE FRONTIER ...

As the White with 1 blog states: The Colour this month might just take you boldly where no-one has gone before ....

And here is my take with this colour ...

Here I cut down my white cardstock to 11,5" x 11.5" and distressed it slightly. This was mounted onto a grey paper from 49 and Market range. I then used texture paste and a brick stencil, and then sprayed with ink as well as using a wet wipe and dabbed ink onto the page. I also used a script stamp randomly stamping.I finished off by using layers of washi tape and then lightly brushing over these with some gesso.
I inked the chippie title - love this chippie from 2 Crafty.
Would love to see your take on the challenge and see it up on the White with 1 blog.

We have a long weekend here in New Zealand ... and the weather looks rather dismal, so I think some scrapbooking might just be in order......

Until next time ....

And here is my take on this month's challenge:

This is my gorgeous niece. I have sprayed the background with some Lindy's Stamp Gang ink and then stamped the background. I then used various layers of paper and flowers to finish this off. There is an overlay on the photo.

And this month White ... with 1 team have also provided a sketch to get those creative juices flowing (the sketch is entirely optional to you):

And here is my take on the challenge

I have used dies to cut the frames and used a stamp for the back ground. I sprayed the back ground with ink and then wiped it with a wet wipe to give it that wiped effect.
