Appreciate the little things - Dusty Attic

Hello lovelies

I have a layout created using the August moodboard as inspiration. I love teal colours, so this moodboard was right up my alley.

I have used 49 and Market paper and ephemera as part of my layout.
The clockworks DA1750 was originally covered in black gesso for another project, which I didn't end up using - perfect opportunity for another layout. As I didn't want the black, I sponged on white gesso. And it worked really well to cover the black. Once this was dry, I brushed on Feathered Peacock Distress Oxide with a blending brush to the clock and then cut this in half. The photo was layered with ephemera and then I added the half clock pieces before adhering to the page with foam tape.
The foliage no #17 (DA2236) was painted with a teal chalk paint and then I added stickles to each piece. From here, I started layering my flowers and the foliage.
The title "Appreciate the little things (DA3345) was covered with white gesso, and once dry, I brushed over Walnut Stain Distress Oxide using a blending brush. I then outlined the words with  brown copic pen.
The title was then added with glue and foam tape to the page, and I finished off using 49 and Market rubons around the photo and embellishments.
These are the products that I have used:

There is still time to use the moodboard as inspiration and create a project using Dusty Attic chipboard. Add your take to the DustyFANattics facebook page for your chance to win one of AU$50 worth of Dusty Attic chippy!

Hugs,
Michelle

Sweet Life - 49 and Market

Hello :)

I have a layout created with Spectrum Gardenia to show you today. I just love all the bright, vibrant colours and they really make a layout pop.

I have created a few layouts from this range already, but haven't created anything that shows all the colours together.  I have used the Spectrum Gardenia Painted Foundations paper to create my layout. I framed my photo first with a square frame from the Curators Key Lined Chipboard Frame pack, which was added to the page with foam tape in order to tuck in elements under the frame.
I then rubbed on leaves from the Spectrum Gardenia 6x8 leaves rubon set - in matching colours to the page before I added Ephemera, laser cuts and and chipboard to the match up against the colours. I have also added a ticket from the Essential Fern Ticket box. There are many layers, which have been added with foam tape to create dimension - especially the butterflies.
I have carried the heart theme through the colours by bringing out the saying "My Heart Could Burst" - each of the heart buttons (from the Ephemera pack) have twine added to them and they have been added with foam tape to the page. There are also chipboard hearts added with foam tape. I have also added coloured stitching and the rubon pattern down the side of the page from the 6x8 Gardenia Essential rubon pages. There are leaves added from the leaves laser cut pack, butterflies from the butterfly lasercut pack and florals from the floral laser cut pack.

I finished off adding the chipboard title "Sweet Life" under the photo frame - which I sanded a little bit.

Thanks for visiting the blog.

Hugs,
Michelle

Time for an Adventure - 49 and Market

Hello :)

Oh this Vintage Artistry Nature's Study is just so beautiful - such gorgeous elements and the colours just make it so versatile to create a great project. Here is another layout I have created using this fabulous range.

To start my layout, I have used the Nature's Study Ledger Collection pack. The top paper is the Ledger paper no 3 torn about 2 inches off the bottom and add a piece of the Ledger 4 paper to take it back to 12 x 12 paper size. My photos are framed with chipboard frames from the Cluster Kit, and then adding layers of Nature's Study of Ephemera (which were distressed on the edges), behind the frames. I have also added some laser cuts from the Nature's Study General Laser Cuts pack. I have also cut up the frames from the Ephemera pack and added these behind the layers. I added the photo pack on with foam tape in the centre so that I was able to add the rubons underneath.
I add all the blotch/script rubons around the layers from the Nature's Study 6x8 Mushroom rubons pack. I then started in the left corner with layers of lasercut leaves first, adding the magnifying glass with foam tape and then layering the mushrooms. The tab with "Love for Nature" is from the Nature's Study Chipboard pieces pack.
And there are just the cutest bugs in the lasercut sheets - I have added a little ladybird bug on one of the leaves and there is a bee at the top right corner of the frame.
At the top of the  mushrooms I have added the fern leaf and some lasercut twigs. Once these were all added, I added the rubon mushrooms around the photo feature, as well as the butterfly.
I have finished adding the saying The Magic of Mother Nature rubon which I cut to fit and added a rubon butterfly, and adding the rubon "Discover". The title "Time for an Adventure is from the Chipboard set.
Thank you for visiting the blog today.

Hugs,
Michelle

Simply Amazing - Dusty Attic

Hello lovelies

It is really cold here in NZ, winter has finally arrived. As I am writing this the wind is howling outside and it is snowing around us. Brrrrr! I have layout that I created that I am sharing with you today.

I have used a Uniquely Creative paper range to create my layout. The chipboard has all been painted with Prima Metallique Acrylic paint. I placed the two iron garnishes (DA1868 and DA1869) on the page, and did not stick these down, until I had placed them apart in away that the frame (DA2673) would fit along the straight lines of these garnish pieces. Then I adhered these to the page.
I have placed foam tape under the photo frame so that it lays in line with the garnish pieces.
Once these pieces were adhered, I began layering my flowers (49 and Market) at the corner edges. Between these flowers, I have added some of the mini heart buttons (DA3430) with twine that I have thread through the holes in both clusters.
There are also some mini heart buttons added to the page for an effect.
The title "Simply Amazing" (DA2747)  has been added to each flower cluster.
To finish off, I have added some micro beads to the page.

These are the products I have used:
