Merry Christmas with Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty Attic friends!

And a Merry Christmas to you all - may this Christmas season bring you lots of happiness and love!

And since it is Christmas, I have put together  a Christmas layout with gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard
I have used Prima paper and flowers combined with the Dusty Attic chipboard to create the layout. There is some stencilling, inking, splattering and stamping in the background before I added all my elements.
All the Dusty Attic chipboard has been painted first in Dusty in Colour Gold. I then added a gilding polish that has a white gold finish over the chipboard pieces.
The photo and paper have been matted on foam tape to allow for the flowers to be tucked under.

I love these chipboard poinsettia's  - and they come in different sizes, which was really great to use on my page. Once all the flowers and chipboard were in place, I added some art stone to the flowers and parts of the page - I thought this gave the page a good Christmas feeling - like snow!

Memories 49 and Market

Festive greetings 49 and Market fans!

As Christmas is upon us, I thought I would put together a Christmas layout to celebrate the festive season. Using the Winters Edge Collection, this is my layout

The base page is the Winters Edge Snowdrift paper. I have used the Bohemian Damask Stamp and Vintage Photo stamp pad to stamp the background. I have then used the frame from the Winters Edge Laser Cuts sheet to frame my photo. The "notes" behind the photo frame are the booklets from the Old School Collection Laser Sheet. I have then added the banner from the Wnters Edge laser sheet to the top of the frame with foam tape, and added the "Be Merry" words.
The flowers have been added in layers on either side of the photo, including adding the laser cuts between these flowers. The cones have been curled inwards to created a rounded effect. I have added some twine in the buttons from the laser sheet.
I have also bent the holly leaves up to create extra dimension. Once finished, I have added some micro art stones. The memories title is a Dusty Attic chipboard. I have added some chalking around the edges of the design.

Have a festive season and best wishes for 2020!

Explore - Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty Attic friends

Today I am up on the blog with my take on the gorgeous December moodboard
These colours are just gorgeous! Insired by the colours - and thinking something elegant and pretty, I have created this layout
Here I have used paper from the Stamperia Cosmos range - perfect for this moodboard. First I have used two of the same photos at angles and then adding paper pieces as a matt behind the photo. The dusty attic chipboard pieces have been painted with Dusty in Colour paint.
Starting with the swirly frame, I have cut out just the swirl bits and then layered these on top of each other under the left hand bottom corner of the photo. I have also cut the squiggly frame in half and added one half to the top of the photo and the other half to the right side of the photo.
I then added the flowers and fussy cut elements. Once these were done, I then tucked in the leaves.
I have then added the title "imagine"
Once I have completed all the elements I add some lavender prills and then used some chalk to blend in around the photos and flowers to add some dimension.

Memory - 49 and Market

Hello 49 and Market friends

Today I am up on the blog with a masculine layout using papers from the Old School collection, plus cogs from the archival chipboard "Timeless" and cogs form the Serendipitous  laser cuts.
I have used the paper High School, as my background paper. The frame for the photo is from the Captured Adventures laser cut sheet. I have used various layers of matting behind the photo, using the larger cream coloured frame from the Old School Collection laser cuts, and adding a black matt using the Old School Off the Grid paper, then cut out the 'notebook" from the paper that has the cards and notes in the Old School collection, and then another layer of Off the Grid paper.  I have then stuck this whole piece down only adhered through the centre, so I was able to add some blue chalking around the papers, and add some stamping. I have used the script stamp from Gabi's and stamp around the outside of the papers. The clock is from the Vintage Remnants no 2 laser cut sheets.

I have embossed a Dusty Attic chipboard called Industrial Corners, as well as the large cog arrangement plus the smaller cogs, nuts and bolts from the Timeless Archival Chipboard, as well the title Memory from the Memory Archival Chipboard set. I then rubbed some gilding wax over the embossed chipboard to give it a rusty effect. I have cut through the large cog cluster so that these can be placed on either side of the photo. I have used the Dusty Attic chipboard under my photo for dimension and that part of it sticks out from under the photo.
Once this was all set I started layering the chipboard cogs and the cogs from the Serendipitous Laser Cut sheet about the main cogs.  I have also used the tag and the tickets from the Old School laser cut sheet. I have also added some tiny blue glass micro beads to finish off.
I have added the book from the Old School Collection - and using the pieces to create a 3D book. I have created a nut and bolt effect by adding the nut and the bolt bit on top.

Thanks for coming over to visit.

Absolutely Beautiful - Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty Attic fans

"The Eyes are the window to your soul"
I have this really gorgeous photo of my daughter's eyes - and I have created a layout for the blog today with this photo
My daughter is a make-up artist, and I love how she has done up her eyes. I have therefore used a circular frame to accentuate her eyes. The paper range is Ciao Bella. I have started first by dry brushing the background of the paper with white acrylic paint, and then stamped randomly before adding the elements.
The leaves, the window, the circle frame, the lace, the clock and the leaves have all been painted in white. Once the leaves have dried I have dry brushed them with Dusty In Colour paint Pesto colour, and then once that was dry, I sanded lightly over the leaves.
The window frame and the circle frame have all been mounted with foam tape so I was able to tuck flowers under these frames.
Once all the flowers were added, I have cut the leaves up and inserted these among the flowers. The title has then been painted with blue acrylic paint.
The title has been stuck on last, on top of the flower clusters

Never Stop Exploring - 49 and Market

Hello 49 and Market fans!

Today I am showcasing another layout with the latest release - the Seaside collection. These new collections are really gorgeous - one can't help using them over and over again. So here is my latest layout

The base page is Seaside Cottage, and I have used the reverse side.  At first I used some clear gesso, and then added some stencilling with texture paste. I have stamped with a script stamp from the "Gabi's Postcards from Paris" stamp. I added some blue ink and spritzed with water. I then added some some dark navy paint splatters, and then some white paint splatters. The photo is matted on some post card cut from the Vintage Remnants Laser Cuts no 2.
I added the photo and laser cuts to the page on mounting foam for height. Using the 5 ply cording jute, I made a fisherman's knot and added this to the photo at the bottom. Once this was done, I added the light house from the Seaside laser cuts, and added foam tape that this was the same height as the photo. I have added the flowers and Seaside laser cuts in layers and also mounting these on foam as required for height. The shells from the laser cut sheet have been curled to give them a three-dimensional shape.
I made up the porthole from the archival "never stop exploring" chipboard and also mounted this on foam tape and added the little ship on foam tape in the centre.

I have then used a mixture of the Sky and Cobalt coloured country blooms, as well as one white wildflower. I have then added laser cuts. The netting from the archival chipboard has been painted with acrylic paint and I have then added some blue ink to the flowers of the archival board and spritzed these with water. I have used the rock from the "Underwater" layered embellishments and I have cut this in half and added it to either side of my flower cluster on the left. I have then added the title from the archival chipboard ontop of the flowers, finishing off with some art stones.

Have a lovely day, and thanks for visiting!

Totally Cute - Dusty Attic

Hello lovelies

Today I am up on the Dusty Attic blog with a layout using the November moodboard
Such soft and beautiful colours - I love the shades of this moodboard, and decided it really needed to be something soft and girlie - and when I saw this photo (acknowledgement to Pexels.com) I thought the colours of the moodboard were perfect.
I first applied clear gesso to my page, and then applied some texture with texture paste using the Starry Night stencil. Once this was dry, I applied some pink ink to the stenciled areas spraying with a little water. Once this was dry, I then splattered some pink ink and white paint. I then also stamped in light grey with  script stamp. The leaves and the circle frames were embossed with yellow and pink toned embossing powder. I then framed the photo in the smaller frame and inserted this to the side of the larger frame. This has been mounted to the page with foam tape and then I added the flowers in layers and on foam tape for dimension.

I added the leaves to the flower cluster. I then painted the Elegant Pearls chippy with Dusty in Colour Pink paint and added some flourish gems to these, and tucked this under the flowers.
I have also painted the wire in the same pink and the Creative Script chippy in Dusty in Colour Cashmere. These have all been cut to various shapes and have added these pieces to the layout.
The butterflies have also been painted with pink paint, and I have then added Stickles to the wings.
Here are some more close ups
